Liquid Telecom Zimbabwe demonstrated its excellence at the recently held ZNCC Matebeleland Regional Business award, when it scooped the ICT Company of the Year award, while subsidiary ZOL Zimbabwe walked away with the first runner-up award in the same category.
The awards ceremony, which was held at the Holiday Inn hotel in Bulawayo on June 8, 2018, ran under the theme “Steering Zimbabwe towards enterprise development, corporate entrepreneurship and sustainable growth”.
The ZNCC Awards are held annually at regional and national level to recognise individuals and businesses which have demonstrated excellence in the past year. The awards aim to encourage competition amongst businesses and individuals, which in turn helps to improve service delivery and contribute towards economic growth.
The ICT Company of the Year award recognises an organisation’s impact in the ICT sector and its ability to provide ICT services across the country. The award highlights Liquid Telecom Zimbabwe's proven innovation and commitment to provide telecommunication services across Zimbabwe and the rest of Africa through its robust fibre optic network.
Over the last few years, Liquid Telecom Zimbabwe has been working to reaffirm its position as an innovative ICT leader in the market by creating solutions that are in-line with customer needs. Liquid Telecom Zimbabwe has become the region’s pacesetter in leading digital transformation through the provision of enterprise-grade cloud services - not only in Zimbabwe but throughout Africa.
The Vice President of Zimbabwe, Honourable Kembo Mohadi presided over the event and in his speech as the Guest of Honour, he re-emphasised that Government has a keen interest in industry and to assist in enhancing enterprise development, corporate entrepreneurship and sustainable economic growth.
Winning the Matebeleland Regional business awards puts Liquid Telecom Zimbabwe in the running to win the National ICT Award at the ZNCC Nationals which are being held in Victoria Falls in a few weeks.
