Wellington Makamure, Group Executive Southern Africa / Managing Director

Wellington joined Liquid Telecom in February 2009. He oversees and sits on several boards of the Group Companies in Southern Africa. He is directly responsible for the leadership, strategic and operations management of Liquid Telecom Zimbabwe.

He has served on several Boards and currently sits on the board of directors of CEC Liquid Zambia, Liquid Botswana and ZOL Zimbabwe. He has been heavily involved in the planning, set up and build of the Liquid Telecom network and business in Zimbabwe.

Wellington, who holds a B.Sc. degree and an MBA, has worked in telecommunications, consumer electronics and industrial electronics industries in both the UK and Africa since early 1980s. He has worked in these respective industries at both technical and senior executive levels. He has also worked in senior executive positions in both public and private sectors.

He is a keen golfer and loves watching football – he’s an ardent Manchester United supporter and loves to travel all over the world.

Mr. Martin Mushambadope, Chief Commercial Officer

Martin Mushambadope, Deputy Managing Director

Martin joined Liquid Telecom in 2011. He has extensive local and International experience in the Financial Services sector, Healthcare Services, Advisory Services and Telecoms having worked in the UK, Singapore, Ghana, Kenya and Zimbabwe. He has held senior leadership positions that focused on Commercial Services, Sales, Marketing and PR, Client Services and Contract negotiations, having worked for Standard Chartered Bank, NMB Bank, CIMAS, CBZ Bank and KPMG.

Martin holds a Bachelor of Business Studies Degree and MBA with UZ as well as a Certificate in Telecoms with UK Telecoms Academy.

Martin is married with five children.

Eng. Edwin Sanyanga, Chief Technical Officer

Eng. Edwin M. Sanyanga graduated with an Honours degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Zimbabwe and an MBA from the University of Science and Technology in Zimbabwe.

He has been instrumental in execution of major telecommunication projects in Zimbabwe, South Africa and Tanzania. In his execution career Edwin was the Operations Director and eventually the Managing Director of Powertel Communications in Zimbabwe. Amongst other achievements he project managed the first rural broadband network and first OPGW network in Zimbabwe. Edwin has over 20 years experience in fixed, data and mobile networks including maintenance of other networks.

Edwin is a Fellow with the Zimbabwe Institution of Engineers and member of IET.
